Murano grey sommerso sculptural bowl with six‑point star form and open‑lobe design c1970s–90s

Murano Grey Sommerso Six‑Point Sculptural Bowl c1970s–90s

This Murano grey sommerso sculptural bowl features a six‑point star form with open‑lobe construction, hand‑blown in Italy c1970s–90s. Crafted in slate‑grey sommerso glass that fades into clear, the piece has a cool, architectural presence with deep sculpted arms and hot‑pulled bridges forming six open windows around the body.

The interior is smooth and glossy, while the exterior arms show subtle organic variation from hand‑shaping. A small raised blue line is visible on close inspection; this follows the internal colour layer and is a natural surface‑breaking inclusion formed during blowing. The grey glass can refract slightly blue where the colour sits close to the surface — not distracting and mentioned for accuracy.

Substantial in size and weight, it displays beautifully as a centrepiece, console‑table sculpture or statement decorative bowl. In excellent vintage condition with only light age‑related traces.
