Vintage Orange Sommerso Art Glass Vase – Twisted c1970s

This vintage orange sommerso art glass vase features a twisted c1970s European studio form with two‑tone colour and clear encasing. The vibrant burnt orange and yellow‑orange core rises through the body in a sommerso‑influenced gradient, glowing warmly when lit from the side or below.

The twisted, pulled body was shaped by rotating the glass during hot‑working, producing a spiralling internal pattern and subtle external torsion. The softly undulated rim reflects the expressive shaping associated with 1970s European studio production.

Faint mould traces at the base and internal stretch lines are consistent with mould‑assisted techniques used in Czech and Polish workshops of the era. The layered colour chemistry, twisting technique and clear encasing strongly support this regional attribution.
